Last weekend my boyfriend and I managed to escape Cambridgeshire for a day and venture into Sussex, and the beautiful town called Lavenham. Which is probably the most picturesque place in the East of England.
It has a beautiful old church, half timbered medieval style cottages, and that typical British country charm. This isn’t the first time I’ve adventured into Lavenham, I remember going around seven years with my Aunty when we just wanted to explore a hidden gem of England. I remember it being such magical place and beautiful day out. I just wanted to replicate that.
So heading back seven years later, I was excited, the village is filled with Tea rooms, history and in recent years it had become Godric’s Hollow, A well-known wizards first home. Being a massive Harry Potter fan, I was super excited to go see the home, just to see if there was a clue left in the window indicating to the famous new found history of the place.
Alas, there was nothing special indicating that the Potters had indeed lived there, just a beautiful model boat in the window -it was someones home, and I’m sure they wouldn’t want to draw too much attention to it otherwise there would be queues to gaze at that beautiful house.
Our day in Lavenham was actually pretty rainy, but the village still managed to look insanely beautiful, as though it’s out of a movie set. We stopped by the tea room title “Chilli & Chives”, which felt like a step back in time – I was honestly in love the cozy vibes there, big teas cups and coffee cake to die for. Like it was the most amazing taste. I now adore coffee cake and all it stands for.
I cannot wait to see where we explore next!
