The perfect little beauty kit
I’ve been having a make-up clear out. By clear out, I mean getting rid of old stuff and products that no longer work for and replacing them with better, brighter things. One being the ultimate beauty kit, Pixi by Petra.
Confession: I have never actually owned a Pixi product before this. However, I decided it was time to take the plunge and invest in makeup that has a higher quality and is cruelty free. Bonus right?

The kit
The ultimate beauty kit really lives up to its name. I can pretty much use this palette for everything in the morning bar foundation a little bit of lippy.
The palette has 40 beautiful natural, tones from rosy to golden. one side of the palette being matte shadows and the going to glittery shade. The best day to night adjustment right?
In the centre of the palette we have some multi use shadows, which I feel are best for a mixture of bronzer and shimmer tones. However, theres no reason that these cant used as eyeshadows also.
One of main attractions to this kit, has to be the size. If I have a long day going from work to an evening dinner in Cambridge, this fits perfectly in my bag, doesn’t take up too much space and easy to wipe out and top up my makeup.

First impressions
Okay lets really talk and test the eyeshadows out. I have really fallen in love with Pixie by Petra BUT that doesn’t mean that this brand has the perfect eyeshadow by any means. Some of the lighter shades are slightly pigmented and I don’t feel that they stay on completely.
However the darker shades work really well with my skin and have lasted a full work day, which is exactly what I want. I do feel however that adding a good eye primer, might solve the pigment issue.

Worth it?
Overall, I think the Pixi by Petra Ultimate beauty kit is gorgeous. Since buying this palette I have purchased the Rose tonic to implement into my skincare routine and oh my goodness – its such a gorgeous feeling on your skin. I’m slowly switching all cosmetics and skincare products of mine to ensure they are cruelty free.

I’m really trying to educate myself where the beauty industry is concerned, so please do share your favourite cruelty free brands!
I’ve never owned a Pixi product either! I think it’s important to have a make-up clear out now and again and get rid of the old crusty stuff! This palette seems like such a good investment though because there’s so many different options!
I have a lot of Pixi products, thanks to getting their PR and I have to say there hasn’t been one single thing that I have not fell in love with! Palettes like this are such a time saver, when you can just grab this and not have to have like 6 different palettes just for one of two shades out of them. 😀
