The mission for #cleanbeautyconfidence

I’ve shared on the blog before, that I’m really invested in getting more and more into organic skincare and even beauty as I move and learn more about skincare. I guess I just want to become more a mindful consumer as small changes like this help our little world and the little living creatures on it.
Thats why, after reading my post on plant based beauty, I was really excited when the lovely people at Green People reached out to me and asked if I wanted to try out their skincare which is also organic, cruelty free and all ingredients are ethically sourced. Already, these products sound a lot better than what’s currently on my bathroom shelf.
So who are Green People?
Started back in 1994, when founder, Charlotte Vøhtz’s had the drive to create a truly organic skin care range for her young daughter Sandra. Sandra was battling multiple skin allergies and eczema and nothing was really working for her skin. She searched the high street for natural products that would be gentle on Sandra’s sensitive skin but found that many so-called natural skin care brands used almost entirely synthetic ingredients. In fact you only need to have less than 1% natural or organic ingredients in the formulation to call it ‘natural’. Not good right?
Charlotte says, “From that moment, I realised that we all are children of the chemical age and that man-made chemicals found everywhere, combined with changing dietary habits, profoundly affect us all”.
I really like this approach from Charlotte and I think its inspiring that the original idea for the company came from wanting help her daughter and I’m sure it helped so many more people find the right organic skincare brand for them.
Testing out the Products
I was lucky enough to receive five products to test and try. Although I have thoroughly loved tying them all, I do have a few favourites.
First up, was the luscious duo Quinoa & Artichoke Shampoo and Conditioner from Green People. My first impressions of this product was the rich smell it gave off when being applied. To me, it smells slightly spicy, very much an autumn scent to which I really enjoyed. I have slightly wavy hair and that’s what I’ve been advised this product works best on.
I personally wash my hair at most, 3 times a week and I feel like that brings the best results out in haircare products, I’ve learnt from beauty blogs that you don’t wanna over do it when it comes to product in your hair.
The Fruit Scrub Exfoliator was the next product I got to demo. I honestly have an odd relationship with exfoliators due to using them incorrectly and far too harshly in my younger years. These days, I only really exfoliate my face twice to three times a week. I’ve also been on the lookout fo an exfoliator that wont be too harsh on my face.
I think Green Peoples fruit scrub, is a really good answer to my concerns. It’s not a harsh scrub, it feels very light on the face and easy to apply. It has a light lemon scent and I had a very clean feeling of all the nasty dead bits of skin being removed once finished.
The foaming face wash maybe my absolute favourite smelling product due to its use of green tea. (which is one of my favourite drinks!) Again, like the exfoliators its a gentle product and isn’t too forthcoming on the skin. This is especially useful should you have easily dry skin, the organic and richness of the product is determined to help soothe with the skin instead of go against it.
Lastly, I was lucky enough to try the day solution moisturiser! In researching this product, I was particularly excited to put it to the test as it contains anti blemish properties. I have really nasty flare ups of redness of my skin during certain times of th month. So using this, it was nice to see a difference of th redness decreasing. It of course didn’t abolish it but I think further use of this product would help it continue to decrease It also has the added benefit of an SPF of 15.
On the whole, I’ve been really impressed the Green Peoples, products. I love the mission of the brand and as stated previously this is where I want my skincare to head to. I’ve certainly become ‘woke’ on wanting to look after my skin.
