CYO: The Lip Primer y’all need for Summer

May 9, 2018 in Beauty - 2 Comments - 3 min read

So in Summer, it gets hot and my lips get cracky and dry. It’s not cute at all. It’s especially annoying when I want to rock a bold lip colour during the Summer. Around a month ago I realised I was in need of some lip prep bootcamp. I trundled off to my nearest high street beauty store, to look for such a product. I was in luck, thanks to the gorgeous CYO Lip primer.

So what is CYO Lip Primer?

So full name of this product is the the Night feed CYO Lip Primer. You guessed it, its something that you can easily slip into your nighttime beauty routine. Now the CYO Lip Primer, performs three key things which are so important for keeping your lips on point during Summer:

  • Nourishes and smooths lips overnight.
  • Reduces the appearance of fine lines along your lips
  • Preps your lips overnight for a smooth lipstick application the next day.

This is exactly what I wanted for a primer. I quickly discovered that the best way to apply this spread a small amount on your lips and then dab the primer in with your finger. Just before bed, after you’ve brushed your teeth of course!

During the month

I’ve always been a bit sceptical of any kind of primer, face lips eyes etc. I’ve recently only just started to invest in them into my beauty regime because I do feel as thought something is missing for my skin. My skin has definitely been crying out for some attention and better coverage.

The whole idea of a primer is that its there as a base to keep your face in place (see how that rhymes) And recently I’ve noticed that certain bits of my makeup slides of throughout the day. Not cool. Not okay. My lipstick is probably currently the worst issue for me. By around 2pm it can end up looking a little patchy. That’s all well and good as I usually will have had numerous cups of coffee and my lunch. However I would still like my lip products to go further.

Considering the CYO Lip Primer is only £4 I was more than happy to start testing out for the perfect lip primer there!

I will admit that for the first week and a half, I really didn’t feel as though there was much change happening in my lips and certainly not much difference when applying a lipstick the next day.

However after this mark, it all started to take place a little more and the primer definitely started to create a dramatic difference to my lips each morning. This just goes to show, how important it is to keep testing a skincare or beauty product out for as long as possible as it can take a while for the product to really set in and work for you.

Would I buy this again?

The CYO Lip Primer is a complete bargain, at just £4, so I would consider this a great budget buy to add into your beauty regime. One little tube can last a month, if used carefully. So if you’re having a little trouble with your lips in the Summer heat, I so recommend you get in the CYO Lip Primer!

    • 💫 Thank goodness for Sundays! It’s been a long week and I cannot wait to just chill & watch 🎬 movies today. I thought I would give little update on how I’m getting on with the ⭐️NEW #BioluminCeye serum #gifted from @DermalogicaUK. It’s really nice to just brush over your 🧖🏼‍♀️ eyes in the morning & really perks me up (I literally reach for all my morning skincare as soon as I 😴 wake up). My under eye area feels a lot brighter & softer after use from these past couple of weeks. Pretty sure, I’m gonna have to 🛍 restock this one soon! 💖#skinfluencer
    • ✨ if only my week was as magical as these cute little tea lights. This week has literally been sponsored by lemon tea ☕️ & throat sweets 🍬 I’ve been off sick that last couple of days and I can tell you it is not ideal. ❄️ Isn’t the weather so bitterly cold in Cambridge recently? Not great when you’re under the weather with a cold! 🥶💖
    • 💫 And just like that, we’ve got through Monday.👊🏼 I had throughly enjoyed my weekend of just taking things slowly and chilling, I definitely need to have more weekends like this.✨ Since moving, I honestly love just hanging out in our living room because the space is sooo bright (can’t wait for longer ☀️days) and also I just feel so cosy here. 😻 Fee has her little spot at the end, right next to the radiator for the colder days too. I think I just need to get a few more pictures 📸 on the wall (currently being very fussy), maybe some more 🛋 cushions & definitely some more house plants. 🌿 Any home decor reccomendations? 💫
    • 🌟 Sunday’s are for doing the things you love.✨ That’s why my day will consist of 👩🏼‍💻blogging, ☕️ drinking massive amounts tea, 📸 scrapbooking and 📺 binging a little bit of Netflix. What does your Sunday look like? 💖
    • 💫I’m so glad we are hitting Friday tomorrow! Is it just me or has this week lasted for like, a year? I have a new blog post 👩🏼‍💻up though all about one of my new favourite coffee ☕️ spots in Cambridge. ✨ PLEASE go check this place out and treat yo’self if you’re local. The food is just divine. 💖
    • C’est fini! 🎉Really pleased to have finished my third book 📚 of the year & the 1st book of @bethsbookclub_ for 2020. Can I just say, this is SUCH a heartwarming💖 but also heartbreaking story! I didn’t want to love Ove as much as I did but I just couldn’t help it, really looking forward to chatting 👩🏼‍💻to everyone about this book later in the month. Now I need new book 📖 recommendations, what’s on your current reading list? 💫 #2020reads
