Review: Stay Perfect with No7 Foundation

April 18, 2018 in Beauty - 3 Comments - 3 min read

So, I’m sure I’m not alone in this dilemma but I have struggled to find a perfect foundation that actually stays on my skin and is also affordable. Enter, No7 Foundation.

You’ve been there right?

I love pricey, high quality products but like a lot of girls and guys. However I need a foundation that I can use every weekday and not break my bank. I Always believe you can find a good alternative on the high street to any expensive makeup product. I’ll admit it might have ALL the benefits or qualities. However high street alternatives do have their bright sparks.

So I grabbed myself a lucky Friday off works and rugged into town, bare faced but determined to find something thats perfect and under £20. Thats a fair price for a high street foundation right? (Please let me know if you think it should be higher or lower)

Now usually I hate makeup assistants working on my face right in the middle of a store, but I realised that some things just have to be done, in order to make a worthy investment. So I went to about four makeup counters and tried a number of foundations. I consider my skin to be slightly oily, so finding a perfect foundation can be really tricky. The test of time and a really good setting spray can work wonders.

I stumbled across the No7 counter, a brand I hadn’t really considered before until my wonderful blogger friend Esther wrote about how the no7 foundation was literally her ride or die. You can read it here and I really recommend you do! I had never considered No7 a brand that would suit me before and I really have no valid reason to give why.

I think honestly, i’ve been obsessed with makeup for A LOT of my teens and always consider No7 to be a brand for the more mature woman. Please remember I literally forgot my age all the time and as i’m now 24, I think this brand works for me.

No7 Foundation: Stay Perfect

So of course, No7 is a well  established brand. They have a collection of foundations for different types of skincare needs. I wouldn’t expect anything less. HOWEVER this made my job at choosing the right foundation a little bit harder.

Enlist the help of the very knowledge makeup assistant at the No7 counter. She immediately offered me, the match made service which takes about 20 minutes and uses unique technology to match your skin-tone to the perfect foundation shade. Now my skin is super light and I joked with the makeup assistant that I’m always direct to the palest shade but it never seems to stick. So I often have to mite shade together which just create a fussy mess. I just don’t always have time for that in the morning, you know?

Luckily, my perfect shade was just one shade darker than the lightest, Calico. I was directed towards the Stay perfect range as my skin can sometimes be a little oily and this range was the best combat for that. We skin tested, half my face just to see what the foundation could do. I was pleasantly surprised, this foundation is literally life proof.

So it’s been a month

I’ve been using the No7 foundation literally everyday since purchasing it. So far I would rate it 4 out of 5 stars. I love how light it feels on my skin. This is a big attraction for me. I’m often up at five on a weekday. So when putting my face on for the day I want my makeup to feel anything but heavy or cakey. A setting spray has been the perfect finish for the foundation.

Its the last the full work day and with a small top up, is perfect for if I go out in the evening. I’m really pleased about it. I finally have a foundation that I can get more out of.

Omg !! I use the same brand and shade – its fantastic! I originally was looking for a cruelty free foundation plus I am terrible making/decided on shade .I did the colour match too – it is fab! It evens my face out- I have a blemish on my cheek plus redness in parts ….Marvellous!

I’ve never tried this foundation but I am familiar with the brand so I do expect great quality. I have oily skin so I’m glad to eat that this can warrant against my misbehaved pores 😃 I’m also glad to hear the range has for varying skin types. Thanks for giving me an extra option to consider for foundation. 💕

    • 💫 Well, it’s my second day of working from home for the foreseeable future. I’ve worked from home quite a bit anyway with my job but doing it long term is going to be quite a shift. 🎉However, it is something we can & must do if able. So how am I setting myself up? 🥰I’m trying to keep as much of a schedule going as possible when it comes to work. I’m also working on creating a barrier between my home environment & work environment, it’s important to not let it all merge into one. 🙏🏻 I’ll be sharing everything through my stories and blog soon. Remember, we are all in this together! My DM’s are always open if anyone needs a chat. 👌🏼💖
    • ✨ A little throwback snap from one of my new favourite hotspots in Cambridge, wishing this had been my breakfast this morning. 🍳 I obviously won’t be cooking anything as fabulous while I’m working from home, but one can dream right?! 💖💫
    • 💫 LIVING LIFE IN THE SLOW LANE. ✨ We’ve not really ventured out the house much this weekend except for the one Tesco shop. (Not a fun experience) Although the UK isn’t on a lockdown yet, we are prepping for it and limiting where we go. Ive really been enjoying the #staythefuckhome & defo recommend you give it a scroll. Stay safe, stay well & stay home (if you can) 🥰♥️
    • ✨ With all the noise from the news & a heavy work load, I’ve been finding it difficult to get a proper good sleep 💤 this week. I’m sure some of you are just the same. It’s a crazy, unknown time and difficult to just switch off from that anxious feeling. Luckily I’ve found a little bedtime spray, a good book 📚 and night time moisturiser can help calm me down a little. While it obviously doesn’t magically solve everything, it does help me. 💫 So, I encourage you all to do the little things that make you feel just that little bit better during this time.♥️
    • Happy Sunday! 💫 oh my goodness, it’s been a hella of a busy time of late. Over the last few weeks, works been full on & I somehow managed to squeeze in a driving test along the way (which I passed 🎉) AND as a result, I’ve had a very exciting weekend shopping for my first car, feeling very happy & lucky. 😌Today I think I’m just gonna nest at home and enjoy the art of doing nothing ✨
    • 💫 Going into today with this as my mantra.👌🏼 Its no secret that I’m currently finding myself swamped at work! 😩So wishing you a peaceful & smooth working week ✨💖
