This year I’m all about changing my mindset and one of my strategies is to choose a word of the year. A word thats a reminder for what I’m trying to achieve and that i’m trying do in 2018.
I find January the perfect time to set that word and fully understand the meaning and strategy to do that. My purpose for choosing one word is to define the year ahead, and also keep a vision in mind for this year. So whats my word for the year?
I’m very determined these year to leave my scattered plans behind and keep myself focus in everything professional and personal. I mean have you ever felt scattered and slightly frazzled with “too many balls in the air?” I think thats the best way to describe. However towards the end of last year, I knew I could change my mindset and attitude if a I really thought about it and worked towards it.
I will EVOLVE on unifying my goals. If you’ve read my blog before, you will see that I set myself a series of New Year goals to help myself achieve the best 2018. After setting these goals, I thought about how I could associate my word of the year with these goals. Instantly I knew I had to put my goals in several places in order to keep my focus and EVOLVE throughout the year. Therefore, I’ve pinned them to my desk, created a vision board and created a checklist in my phone. Its working and its because the word and concept of EVOLVING is guiding me.
Want to choose yourself a word for 2018?
Its not too late! We have a 11 months and little bit left of this year and a word of the year might help you broaden your goals and mindset. I suggest having a little brainstorm on what words your aspire to and what words resonate with you. Once you have a selection, think about what you want to achieve in different areas in your life and if that words fits in.
In my career, I want to EVOLVE
For my family & friends, I will EVOLVE
For my health & wellbeing, I will EVOLVE
For my hobbies & interests, I will EVOLVE
For my personal growth I will aspire to EVOLVE
Make some tea, put your phone on do not disturb and crack open a new notebook (smell those fresh pages!), now’s the time to be shamelessly selfish and take a bit of time for you.
I’d love to hear your word for 2018 in the comments below!
